Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov we will meet next week and invite to this meeting are the countries that will make up the Leopard tank coalition,” Pistorius said.

According to him, the tank coalition has not yet been finally formed. “New countries will join us. The point is to gather as many countries as possible in this coalition,” Pistorius said.

The day before, Pistorius visited Kyiv and  announced that by the end of February, Berlin would hand over guided missiles, five Gepard installations and other equipment to Ukraine.

He also announced that Ukraine will receive more than 100 main battle tanks of the older Leopard 1A5 type from a group of several European countries, and Leopard 2A6 tanks  will arrive in Ukraine by the end of March .

It will be recalled that on January 25, the German government decided to provide the Ukrainian armed forces with  Leopard 2 main battle tanks .

In addition, Germany’s Federal Security Council  approved the supply of 178 Leopard 1 tanks  from industrial stocks to Ukraine.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, after meeting with his German counterpart in Kyiv, announced that Ukraine should receive  80 Leopard 1s by the end of the year , and the first two dozen should arrive “by the summer.”
