Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska (RS), one of the two entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, argued that the policy implemented by the USA and England has turned Bosnia and Herzegovina into a “cursed country”.

Serbian leader Dodik told the Srna news agency that “the ultimate goal of the United States and Britain is to dissolve the Republika Srpska (RS), where they have worked so hard for decades.”

Dodik argued that the “policies of the US and the UK have made Bosnia and Herzegovina a cursed country”.

Referring to the “immovable property law”, which has been causing controversy for a long time in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik made the following assessment:

“Now they are engaged in the usurpation of RS properties, and they do so not on the basis of the constitution, but on the basis of the ‘decision of the constitutional court that they created’ to enforce such things. If we accept that the property belongs to Bosnia and Herzegovina, then we will be good guys for them. Never accept that. “When they repeal our resolutions, we will make bigger decisions.”

“The general view of the people of the Republic of Serbia is that they (US and UK) are not friends of the Serbian people, and we need to treat them from that perspective,” Dodik said. used the phrase.

Separation statement from Dodik

While the controversial law was first suspended by the High Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, it was finally repealed by the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 2 March.

Dodik evaluated the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina last week to repeal the controversial law in the RS, which covers the acquisition of public immovable properties into the property of the entity, pointing out that they are preparing a new law, “This time, I plan to include all properties within the entity. They demand a property list from us. If this is done, you will have destroyed Bosnia and Herzegovina.” had made the assessment.

Dodik, who has come to the fore with his separatist rhetoric many times before, said, “If you try to take our properties from us, we will separate the RS. If this is a ‘take it or leave it’ situation, we will take it to keep it.” had used the words.

The immovable property problem in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Arguing that the immovable properties belong to the entities according to the Dayton Peace Treaty, which ended the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992-1995, RS claims that they also have the administration of the properties with the said law.

The law on immovable property, voted in the NSRS in December 2022, which is unconstitutionalFebruary 28It is claimed that the public institutions used by RS under the law in question are “part” of them.

While the problem of immovable property has been a topic that has been talked about since the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is discussed whether the immovable properties in the country belong to the state or the entities using them
