Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, who is paying a visit to Belgrade, met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Serbia Ivica Dacic on Monday.
The meeting was a follow-up to their recent discussions in Athens in November.
“The deepening of the Greek-Serbian relations with emphasis on the economy and the trade, the European perspective of the Western Balkans and regional developments, including the Eastern Mediterranean, were on the meeting’s agenda,” the Foreign Ministry posted on Twitter.

Greece supports Serbia’s EU accession and assists in the implementation of the mandatory reforms by providing technical know-how, visiting Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said on Monday after a meeting with his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic in the capital city.
The Western Balkans belong to Europe and “no more delays should be allowed on the European prospect of regional countries,” Dendias said. Greece also supports the continuation of Belgrade-Pristina’s dialogue that will lead to a legally binding ageement, he underlined, while underlining that all agreements signed by both to date should be implemented. When he visits Kosovo, he said, this is the message he will convey.
The Greek FM also criticized Turkiye’s revisionism, neo-Ottoman ambitions, and its threats of war, and stated that Greece will continue to defend its sovereign and territorial rights and will not give up on these efforts.
Dacic thanked Dendias for Greece’s support his country’s European prospect and the issue of Kosovo, underlining that stability and peace in the area are the Serbian political leadership’s priority.
He added that he and Dendias will be visiting Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at his childhood home to wish him well for his family’s celebration of Saint Nicholas, observed under the Julian calendar on December 19.
