Starting from Aug. 15, driving licenses in Albania will be issued within 30 minutes, the General Directorate of Road Transport Services said on Tuesday.
According to the directorate, citizens who have applied for a driving license card or its renewal will be able to get this service within 30 minutes, without having to wait for 15 days as before.
Moreover, the directorate declared this service will now be free of charge.
“Implementation of the new procedures will start first in the capital city Tirana, which issues 45 percent of the total driving licenses in the country,” said the directorate.
In 2018 in Albania, according to the National Statistics Institute, a total of 68,658 driving licenses were issued, of which 20,051 driving licenses were issued to women and 48,607 to men.
