Albania’s government said it has approved a project to build a wind farm with an installed capacity of up to 3 MW in Topoje village, near the southwestern city of Fier, by local company Max Energy.
The wind farm must be put in operation within 24 months after receiving a building permit, the government said in a statement late on Thursday.
No further details were disclosed in the government decision.
Albania produces over 90% of its electricity from hydropower plants, most of it from three power plants along the Drin river, in the northern part of the country.
