Number of dissolved Romanian cos up 23% y/y in Jan-Nov

January 3 (SeeNews) – Romanian companies that put an end to their operations between January and November 2022 increased by 23% year-on-year, the country’s trade registry said.

A total of 35,368 companies ceased operations in the eleven months through November 2022, compared to 28,749 a year earlier, ONRC said in a press release on Monday.

The highest number of companies that ended their activity in the first eleven months of 2022 was registered in Bucharest, where 6,581 companies were dissolved.

The sector that recorded the highest number of company closures – 10,607 nationwide, was the retail, wholesale, and auto and motorcycle maintenance sector. Compared to 2021, the number of dissolved companies in the sector grew by an annual 20.73%.

On the other side, the south-eastern county of Ialomita reported the fewest company dissolutions between January and November 2022, with 192 companies having ceased operations.
