White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-PIerre said on Tuesday that the United States will continue to seek a ” just peace” in Ukraine but insisted it is “hard to take seriously” that Russia is prepared to engage in seeking a diplomatic solution as it still insists it wants to keep territories it conquered, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Responding to a question on whether peace in Ukraine is likely to be restored this year, Jean-Pierre stressed Washington does not want to do anything about Ukraine without Ukraine and that the final solution must respect the United Nations principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Finally, she claimed the US and Ukraine will be ready to negotiate once Russia is ready to accept these conditions.
