Russian troops are strengthening their presence on the front line. Therefore, the possibility of an enemy counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region is not ruled out, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready for such a scenario.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the head of the Kharkiv OVA Oleg Sinegubov on the air of the telethon.

He recalled that the front line runs along the Kupyansk direction in the region and the enemy is constantly trying to attack, but suffers losses and retreats to previously occupied positions.

“Indeed, we hear information about attempts to re-offensive on the city of Kharkov, on the settlements of the Kharkov region. We are ready for this, our Armed Forces are strong and ready to respond to any attempts of the enemy of this nature,” Sinegubov said.

According to him, Russian troops are tightening their presence on the front line.

“This is the Kupyanskoye, Dvurechanskoye direction, as well as in the direction of Kremennaya. We see this, the enemy’s goal is to prevent the Armed Forces of Ukraine from advancing forward. There are certain maneuvers and we do not really include attempts to counterattack by the enemy. However, our fighters are completely prepared for this,” said Sinegubov.

Recall that earlier military expert Roman Svitan, in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine, did not rule out that during a new offensive, the Russians would want to try to capture part of the Kharkiv region.

Earlier, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said that the most likely target of the Russian offensive would be eastern Ukraine, including, possibly, the Kharkiv region.
