Bulgaria has decided to strengthen the security of the country’s arms industry, a government statement said.
The move came after Sunday’s explosion at a private manufacturer’s ammunition warehouse near the southeastern town of Karnobat.
The government statement said that Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov has instructed relevant departments of the economy and interior ministries to carry out inspections and take preventive actions for the security of the state and private production enterprises of the military industry.
Accordingly, teams from related institutions will make visits to several sites with the aim to strengthen security measures of facilities and people in the sector.
