BiH Minister of Defense Zukan Helez spoke with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to BiH, H.E. Olav Reinertsen today.
The topics of discussion were bilateral cooperation between the two countries, with special reference to the process of Euro-Atlantic integration and the role of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway, as the contact embassy for the cooperation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with NATO.
Minister Helez informed Ambassador Reinertsen about the activities carried out by the MoD and the Armed Forces of BiH when it comes to the Euro-Atlantic path of our country, and expressed his satisfaction with the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina is slowly fulfilling the conditions contained in the 14 priorities of the European Union that were set before our country before the start of negotiations on membership in this political-economic grouping.
In the conversation, the minister emphasized once again that the Euro-Atlantic path of our country has no alternatives and that the institutions of our country, especially the MoD and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will continue the path of reforms that lead to full membership in both NATO and the European Union.
The focus of the conversation between Minister Helez and Ambassador Reinertsen was the upcoming visit of the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Norway to our ministry, planned for the end of this month.
In the conversation, Ambassador Reinertsen expressed his full support for Bosnia and Herzegovina in achieving its strategic foreign policy goals, and said that the Embassy of Norway, as the contact embassy for BiH’s cooperation with NATO in the future, will point out to the residents of BiH the importance of full membership in this organization. , guided by the reasons that were once applied by Norway in the process of joining the NATO family of countries.
These reasons are primarily security, but also economic, the fulfillment of which made Norway an economically developed, prosperous and socially stable country.
In the end, it was concluded that it is necessary to continue developing mutual cooperation for the benefit and satisfaction of both parties.
