The U.S. State Department approved early this month a significant Foreign Military Sale to Bulgaria. This potential sale, valued at an estimated $1.5 billion, encompasses Stryker 8×8 armored vehicles in a variety of configurations, coupled with related equipment.

The government of Bulgaria is interested in procuring a total of 183 vehicles from the Stryker Family manufactured by the American company General Dynamics Land Systems.

This proposed acquisition includes 90 M1296 Infantry Carrier Vehicles – Dragoon (ICVD), 17 M1126 Infantry Carrier Vehicles (ICV), 9 M1132 Engineer Squad Vehicles (ESV), 33 M1130 Command Vehicles (CV), 24 M1133 Medical Evacuation Vehicles (MEV) and 10 M1135 Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicles (NBCRV). Additionally, the deal incorporates support service equipment, communication tools, spare parts, training services, and other related logistics and program support components.
